The Logistics and Engineering Solutions Business Unit currently has an opening for a Software Engineer
Perform software engineering, design and development in sustainment and modification of AF Technical Information Management System in accordance with USAF System Engineering and Testing processes. Perform preventive and corrective software maintenance to minimize impacts production. Be able to create and document solutions, managed data and installation into a hosted enterprise environment.
Education Computer Science Degree, Information Technology Degree or equivalent
Required Skills Candidate must have at 4-7 years of software development experience to include analytical/programmatic skills and operating within a high-tech J2EE environment using IBM Websphere and Oracle Database. Development environment is Rational Tool Suite and builds are managed using Clearcase and Software Architect. Interface experience with MQ messaging run on IBM's Enterprise Service Bus 3.1. Experience with data migration and system install instruction to instruct remote system administrators to install the application and associated data sets. Candidate should be able to create and document solutions, including temporary work-around solutions based on customer needs. Candidate will modify/create system/software documentation to include requirements and design in accordance with best engineering practices. Responsibilities include applying software engineering principles in the analysis, design, prototyping, software development, and testing of J2EE applications hosted in an enterprise environment. Strong interpersonal skills are required for interfacing with client reprepsentatives,and internal customers. Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance. Must have good writing and communication skills. Desired Skills Experience with USAF technical order business process domain. Programming skills and extensive knowledge in SGML, and Microsoft (MS) Windows development (.Net).
