Job Description:
CEVA Logistics is part of a global company providing logistics services. CEVA Logistics provides Fortune 500 companies value-added supply chain services, such as network design/redesign, high-velocity cross docks, fulfillment centers, sequencing, kitting, sub-assembly, return logistics, dedicated contract transportation and e-Commerce solutions.
This is a level 19 position. To be eligible as an internal candidate you must have been in your current position for at least 9 months, and have at least a satisfactory performance rating and good attendance.
In addition, no internal candidate will be considered until the HR department receives a written acknowledgement from the employee's direct Supervisor stating that they are aware that the employee has applied for the open position.
We are currently recruiting for a District Manager for East Coast operations.
Qualified candidates will responsible for leading their assigned contract/s and all employees in the growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customer. Ensure ongoing customer service and maintaining customer relations by focusing on the assigned contract's daily operations based on the needs of the customer. Responsible for the attainment of profit objectives of contracts.
Essential Functions (add essential functions in a bullet point format)
· Ensure ongoing customer service and maintain customer relations through focusing on the contract's daily operations based on customers needs. This is accomplished through daily communications with the customer to discuss service needs and potential problem areas.
· Responsible for attainment of profit objectives of contracts, provide financial analysis and decision making for customer.
· Responsible for the organic growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customer.
· Ensure safety, maintain quality, establish and monitor cost control programs.
· Lead and foster creative problem solving, develop positive and professional relationships with customer and within contracts.
· Work with government departments, social groups, etc.
· Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, personnel selection, professional development.
· Oversee of operations management within the company guidelines.
· Oversee operations schedule and staff the contract in anticipation of customer needs. Oversee the staffing needs of the Contract to assure sufficient labor to meet the customer's requirements as well as control labor costs.
· Provide support and guidance to hiring manager.
· Manage the contract staff to assure continued quality service by writing procedures, testing, hiring and training managerial and operational personnel.
· Maintain corporate productivity and quality award programs to recognize outstanding performance.
· Encourage use of Performance Management system in all facets of the Contract operation. Maintain the Contracts quality performance objectives through the continuous improvement processes.
· Train managers and other personnel strategically in all areas that will help them achieve the contract goals and objectives and satisfy the customer
· Establish ongoing programs to ensure continuous improvement. This includes the use of Kaizen, LEAN and the EQS program to maintain quality performance.
· Motivate the workforce through the use of the Performance Management program; encourage input from the employees through Employee Involvement Groups; and reward for continuous performance by using the quality and Productivity Award programs.
· Establish and monitor cost control programs, including annual budget development, monthly P & L review and payroll and cost analysis. Through the use of Performance Management projects, guide managerial staff to monitor and control costs on a weekly basis.
· Handle day-to day administration of contract, including: preparation of customer related performance reports and all other correspondence; requests from vendors, general office and contract employees; and all other items that fall within managerial scope of responsibility.
· Negotiate and Enforce Collective Bargaining Agreement where applicable.
· Negotiate resolutions pertaining to conflicts in the workplace

Must be creative and possess the ability to think strategically outside the box. Must be computer literate. Previous start up and Project management experience preferred.
Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree with a plus in logistics, 3PL or transportation. 5 - 10 years senior management experience in a transportation/ industrial environment. Union experience a plus.
